That was really great Mr. Wood, I loved it. And thank you Kaily for talking. You know I just got accepted into MSU and I finally have my housing papers done and made my first payment, but i have to adimit I am getting a little nervous. I actually teared up a bit when Kaily was talking about her first day because I put myself there. What’s my first day going to be like? I really don’t know anyone up there and I’ve only visited the campus 3 times. I appreciate Kaily talking and reassuring me that college life is the best, but the whole roomate thing and being 8 hours away from all of you old friends that have gone to other colleges…well, frankly…it freaks me right out.

    Thanks again = )

(By the Way): That new microphone is the bomb. 🙂

It’s so nice to hear an intelligent voice again. I’ve been talking politics with my cat for two weeks now. Just accept the fact that you’ll hit the wall at some point – and that’s OK. We all do, especially when you’re changing a routine that has gone on for 18 years. Just curl up into a ball, cry yourself to sleep, get up and go to school the next day…You can always call me. Kaily did. in the end get out there – explore. dream.

“Twenty years from now, you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do, than by the ones that you did. So throw off the bow lines, sail away from the safe harbor, catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream.” Mark Twain.

ps…you are right the new microphone is da bomb!

pss…it’s less than two hours deary – not eight.

Hey Kassi, DON’T WORRY ABOUT IT. You will love it up here. Come visit if you would like. You will do okay and I hit the wall my first day and after that… LIFE HAS BEEN AMAZING!!!

Last night I was laying in bed and couldn’t fall asleep. So I decided to listen to this podcast. While listening to it, I pictured everything that you guys were talking about. I really liked this and it has helped me to see what is actually important in finding the right college. For example the outside environment and also the people on the campus. It is important to be able to fit in because you have to. Once you leave high school you have left all of your friends and have moved into your own direction. That right now is my BIGGEST fear, losing my friends that I have had. At this point I don’t know much about college but I am beginning to become more interested. This has helped me out a lot. Thanks to Mr. Wood and Kaily! Keep going Mr. Wood.

I do have a suggestion though if possible. Could you possibly find someone who goes to Hope College? I am interested in learning more about them.

    Thanks again.

We will find somebody for you. Thanks for listening.

I want to go to Michigan State University myself so I listened to Kaily Parks talk about Michigan State. I can relate to her on the fact that she stayed on campus over spring break, because last summer I stayed two weeks for a program called Osteo-Champs. While I was there I got the feel for medical school, and I attended a math, English, anatomy and physiology, and a chemistry class. Will be going back to Osteo-Champs this year and will be doing the second year student part of the program. I stayed in Holmes hall, and we actually ate all of our meals in the dorm she talks about which is McDonel. The food was alright, I didn’t like all the meals but that’s why I brought my own snacks and stuff. We got to go to the strip that she talks about and we went shopping, and before the camp we ate at a really good restaurant. We usually ate made a late night trip to the Grand River strip to the Taco Bell, and that was one of the best parts. We walked everywhere and it was really hot, and it’s the reason that a lot of the students there ride their bikes, and some roller skate. We got paired up with some of the students who are in medical school, and we can call them, or e-mail them whenever we have questions. We also have some mentors who allow us to go job shadow them, and are going to help us out though out college, and some even stay connected and later help getting jobs for their students. Michigan State is the number one school that I want to attend. I am very excited to go to college but also scared with like how I am going to pay with it. I am also looking forward to going back to Osteo-Champs this year. I would recommend this program to anyone who is in interested in the medical field, because it gives you the real taste of college classes, and even medical school.
