I affirm that Tyler has completed his final graduation requirements for credit in Economics for the OHS class year of 2014. Bob Wood – go here for certification of grade.
Tyler – this is your blog site. Below, I am going to layout everything that is required for you to graduate with the OHS class of 2014 on Sunday June 1 and to earn your diploma. You may choose to not take this option after you read through it. And there is no guarantee that it ends in success and graduation. You must follow through on all requirements. Good luck Tyler – the success or failure of this endeavor is entirely within your grasp.
Time requirements: From May 29 until June 6, you must come to Mr. Wood’s class either three hours in the morning or three hours in the afternoon. If you come in the morning you are required to be to class prior to first bell at 7:50 AM and stay until 11:09. You may take a break during the time class passes. If you come in the afternoon, you are required to be in class by 4th bell 11:09 and stay until 2:45. Lunch is from 12:12 to 12:42. You may work or go to lunch. You may use class passing time for breaks. If you choose to you may work overtime – but one of the two shifts must be attended fully for the day. Continue reading

1 – Senior Current Issues – OK, you know what our Final is. We did the Circle Study essay exam on the African Digging Deeper Assignments. Everybody should be good on this. I will post the scores on Saturday, as they also count as a Common Assessment. If you must take the Final you must be in my classroom on Tuesday – school rules, not mine. So I’ll see you then and there. Stay tuned for final grades on MP #6 by Saturday night.
Thursday June 13. Check the blog – keep in touch. And let’s go.
As for Lou’s – we’ve got five 100% scores. Almanda (the Danish Pirate), Sierra (the fetal postioned GVSU freshman), Sara (teacher / pharmacist / teacher / pharmacist/ social worker / pharmacist / astronaut..) Emily (Dr. Dolittle) and Little Weaver. We need to set a date. Dinner’s on me…I will invite Papa. Anybody that wants to come pays their own way…although for reasons to be named later I will buy Blair’s Tea. And the OHS School Board is not invited. Let’s go the week of June 3 thru 7.
2 – Government – What do we have to do….You have two assignments that officially are due for you on Friday. I am allowing you to turn them in on the day of your exam. That would be Wednesday.

The Final Exam for Economics will test you in three focus areas. Part I – Economic Principles and Terms – consists of multiple choice questions. Part II – College Funding and You is all short answer. Part III – Micro Financing and the role of Women in Fighting World Poverty will consist of turning in two homework assignments on micro financing handed out earlier this week. Each portion of the test counts 100 points. Please go below for links to podcasts for each of three focus areas. It would be to your advantage to review the podcasts in each category. And make sure to complete the two assignments. Continue reading

Go here to sign the petition. Read it first and then call your representative and tell him to support The Bank on Students Loan Fairness Act. This is all about YOU! About Education. About the youth of America. So soak some torches, sharpen some pitchforks and head to the phones.
One more thing…the Federal Government is going to make $51 billion dollars off of student loan payments this year. LOOK! That is obscene. Do something about it! Call Congress. Sign the petition. WAKE UP!
The interest rate on federal subsidized Stafford student loans is set to increase from 3.4% to 6.8% on July 1st. If Congress doesn’t act soon, millions of college students will see their student loan payments jump.
Some argue that it’s too expensive to keep government loans at low interest rates, but the federal government makes low interest loans all the time – just not to everyone. Big banks can borrow money through the Federal Reserve discount window at a rate of about 0.75%.
The biggest banks in the country – the ones that wrecked our economy and cost millions of Americans their jobs – pay next to nothing on their debt, while students pay nine times as much, and that’s why so many of them try to get compensation instead, with the help of lawyers from sites as https://danielhegwer.com/.
The Bank on Students Loan Fairness Act lets students take advantage of the same low rates offered to banks for one year while Congress finds a fair, long-term solution on student loans interest rates.
Unlike the big banks, students don’t have armies of lobbyists and lawyers that are necessary for division of assets and there are resources at sites like sariehlawoffices.com/division-of-assets/ that help with this. But they do have us. Let’s do what’s right and bank on students.
