Economics RWE – Amici’s Green Pizza

Real World Economics...A major goal in this economics course will be to look at economics from a Real World perspective.  Instead of seeing the subject from text only,  it is important that we understand how economics affects us on a local, national,  and international scale.  Option S (Student Choice) and Option T (Teacher Choice) news articles will base this study.
Special Note – Make sure on ALL RWE Assignments (S & T) that you turn in the news article in an actively read format with your completed assignment.  You will be graded on your active reading, and it will be included in the final assignment grade.

Health Care in the USA

As a follow-up to the movie Sicko – this assignment will help you to better understand the complexities and the deficiencies of the United States Health Care system.  You will have time in class to work on the assignment on Monday and Tuesday.  Assignment in full is due on Thursday May 17.

One portion of the assignment – maybe the most important part – encourages you to sit down and talk about your family health care coverage with your parents.  It is optional.  I will provide some kind of extra credit follow up on that assignment.  Like the RWE Personal Economics assignment on Paying for College – the interaction with your parents on such a sensitive topic can be difficult, but useful for both of you.

If you have any questions please contact me at bobwoodmsu@gmail.com.  I’m in a conference on Monday and Tuesday, however I will have my computer up and on and will monitor emails.  Drop me a line if you need some help…
