Podcast and Website Essentials
This college funding thing is critical. And knowledge is power. With that in mind – it is vital that you thoroughly understand each of the terms listed below. I’ve created (2:00 to 4:00) audio podcasts on each in order that you might better understand the term. A related website in red accompanies it. Also, since this whole college thing is dependent on a team effort between you and your parents, a great way to get moving, would be for you and mom and dad to sit down together and listen to each of the following podcasts.

Reflection Explanations – Assignment Part II
Assignment due posted to Google Docs by 11:59 PM Friday October 18. Worth fifty points.
You all now have some kind of Reflections Journal book. We will use these books the remainder of the school year 
for specific in class written assignments. We will begin that process in the Second Marking Period. But first – we will do one more assignment (50 points) in regard to your creation.
For the front I asked you to create a composite of your life. Many of you did that with photos. Others used drawings and quotes. Now I need for you to introduce me to that production. To the right you’ll see reproduction of my Reflection book. Below, you’ll notice that I’ve drawn an outline of it as well. On the outline, I’ve numbered (and titled) each of the particular featured photos/drawings on that Reflection book. I want you to do the same – whether you have two or twenty-two photos. SCI – More about Blogging
OK guys…here we go.
I’ve spent the morning watching Word Press blog videos. Everything that you will need to know to
create your blog is available…with WP Apprentice . You will learn enough from five free videos on the WP Apprentice site. You need to sign up for the free Word Press Quick Start Course. You’ll be sent a link to send you back to the sight where you find nine videos. Some of them are not necessary for our level of blogging. What are necessary are the following five videos in this order:
- Using Word Press Themes
- Using Word Press Widgets
- Getting to Know the Dashboard
- Content: Posts and Pages
- Creating a Post
Open up your blog while you work. Go slow. Work with a partner. If you take your time and watch these videos – you will master the art of blogging. Try watching them a few times… they are not long and they really do give you everything that you are going to need.
So, let’s get movin…
